engine vibrates loud... mounts?
engine vibrates loud... mounts?
my engine seems to get louder and vibrate (coming from right under the dash is how i descibe it) with higher rpm's @ higher speeds. i noticed this a lot accelerating through 4th and 5th gears.
i searched and read a couple posts but cannot determine if this is more likely the tranny mount or engine mounts?
any diagnoses appreciated; going to take a better look up on ramps asap.
thanks ~ brian

Well you can check your tranny mounts and engine mounts..
And if you have the cheap underdrive bolt on pulleys that can do it .And there is likely that you have driveshaft vibe..the cure is 1le or ls1 driveshaft or aftermarket ones and maybe normal third gen ones. Not sure if you can rebalance the stock one someone said something about turning it 180 degrees..mabye try that and of course shake can be from out of balance tires too..

Yo!! Dude. My car did make a grinding loud sound whenever I pushed deep in the gas pedal.
The Coolest Mexican Grease Monkey I have ever found, (really cool dude) fixed it for 5 dollars in less than 5 minutes.
There is a metal crossmenber underneath, near the Tranny. Runs on across and on top the Cat Back Pipe. it was soo close to the pipe it would touch it each time.
He got a pry bar and on one pull he bent it about an inch away from the exhaust pipe.
Problem fixed. Check to see if you have the same problem.
Marvin
**that guy removed all four wheel locks in my car for 10 dollars in like 7 minutes then he sold me all shinny brand new ones for another ten dollars (My ex had thrown the key lock in the garbage) The dealer quoted me over 200 Bucks to remove them.
