Engine swap/wire harness question

I have a 97rs vert and I bought a wrecked 97 z28 hardtop for an engine swap. I have a shop doing the work for me. They recently flat bedded the wrecked car to their shop to start tearing it all apart. They called me the other day and said they just realized that my car is a convertible, so they want me to count the number of wires going into the wire harness. They said because my car is a convertible, and the donor car is a hard top, they might have to redo all the dash wireing in which I would be in a world of sh*t. My question is the harness different from a convertible to a hardtop? How many are in a hardtop or t-top. I cant see it being different. The only difference is the power roof. I just don't like the way he said it if they have to tear into the dash, as if it's going to take me broke or something. TIA

Shawn

Re: Engine swap/wire harness question

I counted 15 on my vert, including two wires twisted together all the way through, being a green and tan. If someone can count their wires for me i'd appreciate it. For anyone that don't know, it's the wire loom by the battery that goes across the passenger strut tower.

I don't see why they would have to do much of anything. I don't think counting those wires is going to really tell you anything.
