Engine Rebuild
DOES ANY BODY KNOW OF A PLACE THAT SELLS A REBUILD KIT FOR THE LT1, AND IF SO HOW MUCH ONE COSTS? ALSO, IS $2000 A TIGHT BUDGET TO BUY A SHORT BLOCK AND BUILD IT, AND ALSO BUY ANOTHER TRANSMISSION:AUTOMATIC?

What kind of rebuild are you looking at? IE: just, new pistons, rings, (freshing up of motor) or RODS, pistons, crank etc... I was able to freshen up my motor for just over $1800. I got the block checked out, and honed,(did not need a overbore or "decked"), replaced the pistons with forged slugs, reused the stock rods and crank. Got the heads checked out and put new springs, and retainers, and reused the pushrods. and rockers. As for the kit I used the LT1 kit that is in Summit. Hope this helps.
