i picked up a short block for 130 bucks... its a LT1 i donno which year yet....... its has the crank, pistons, and rods...
i wanna rebuild this to be a strong N/A motor for my T/A. summit has a kit... but i dont quite understand what i need to buy.
i want this to be cheap... can i just hone and redo the crank and rods.... ?
anyone got a definative answer for me.. i already searched.

Phew, have the block done professionally (Bore, deck, and align hone) at the least. Have the shop install the cam bearings for $30.
Get the rebuild kit either from www.summit.com or www.flatlanderracing.com. (Click the link for stroker kits... $660) Get bearings and preferably moly rings.
A new timing chain will be needed with a full set of gaskets and seals.
What about cam and heads?
