Engine re-build

Having my LT1 re-built after 87,000 on the clock........not going radical for budget reasons....wish i could go stroker or supercharged but staying basic...What do you guys recommend for crank, pistons, rods, etc....and for top end what do you recommend for cam, head work, intake, etc....what could i leave intact if anything........or should everyting be changed....

right now, im using the stock crank, studding the mains, 6" rods, 10.5:1 forged pistons, ported heads, hot cam kit( emissions reasons) the prices i got from my machine shop were 500 machine work. basically everything the block needs. 120 if the crank needs to be cut. 200 for balancing. 350 for head porting. 250 valve job. everything after that is parts. not too bad if you ask me.

Those prices seem to be really good.......i have a base cost of $5,000 for removal, re-build to stout specs, and installation.....

WHY NOT

Well some mechanical problems one was a shops mistake and another was wear and tear......oil pressure is redlined and there is a miss in the engine.....plus i want to go FASTER........I'm still looking for a break down of recommended parts for a quality engine re-build.........Is there any body out there that can recommend something that worked for them....
