I'm getting ready to reassemble my motor. As I'm assemlbing it I want to clean up everything VERY well. What should I use to do this? Can I use gasoline on parts like lifters, valves etc? What is the best to use?

I had figured as I put each peice in the motor I will douse it in oil and make where ever it mounts saturated in oil as well and slide it in. This is my first rebuild. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Thanks for the help!
