Engine Light Blinking... running a little rough.. whats wrong?
I just went out to pick some stuff up.. and when I got there I notice it was idling a little rough.. but not horrid.
So now as I'm driving back.. what I thought was a noise from my LTs vibrating agaist my K-Member, got louder and rougher. The a few seconds later.. the Check Engine light starts to blink. So I pulled over, shut her off, looked under the hood. No weird smells, not overheating, I have full oil pressure.
So I starter her up again.. it was running slightly rough like before, but no engine light blinking. I continue driving carefully.. and same thing happens... engine light starts to blink.. I repeat what I did before. But this time I ran the engine while looking under the hood.. and there is some ticking from the passenger side. I don't know if it's an exhaust leak or not though because I've never heard one.
The only things I have done to the car recently are Jet-Hot LTs, GM 1.6 RR crappy custom y-pipe fabbed up, put some fuel line and fuel injector cleaning in the gas tank at the same time (bottle said that was ok to do) and changed my PCV valve.
I looked at all my wires and not seem to be burnt. What else could this be? I need somewhere to start!
Thanks!

Burnt wire? Is that what is making that loud ticking noise (the arching)? It's hard to tell if the ticking is my RR or not though.. doesn't sound like it.. I doubt my RR or THAT loud and only on one side...
Thanks! At least I have somewhere to start... what does an exhaust leak sound like??? It is a clear "tick" that "ticks" with the "rhythm" of the engine.. and if I rev it.. the speed of the ticking changes accordingly.
I'll check my wires and get back to you.
Anyone have any other ideas? I really appreciate it.

no the ticking is probably a exhaust leak.. or a rocker.. hard to say.. Go over all the header bolt's again... but the misfire is not likely going to be a exhaust leak.. Go over everything again.. Best bet is to do Over the valve cover wires.. leass likely of a burnt wire..
My wires are Taylor OVC kit...
And I found the problem. You were dead on.. the ticking was the number 6 cylender arching..
My boot fell off the PLUG and the plug is loose for some reason!
That will do it every time I guess huh?
I don't even have enough damn tools to do this either! (sad huh?) And it pouring outside now! Figures...
If need be.. how bad is it to drive with a loose spark plug? (assuming I get get the boot back on)

I'd say reach down there and get the plug at least finger tight.. then put the boot on there good.. take it to where ever you need and check all the plug's for tightness.. that should fix yer issue.. GOod luck and glad i could help..
