Doesn't mean anything. Electrical items can pop at any time.

I had an opti go bad on me last year. Replaced it with a brand new one from GM. The new one lasted a week before it started dying. Replaced it again under warranty...next one was a DOA.

I've swapped over 10 optis over the years on friend's cars. They can last 60,000 miles or be DOA.

If the car is running rich, I would check ignition and fuel psi.

If there is no black smoke or scanner doesn't show high mV, then go with Injuneer's recommendation.

Did this ever improve when you replaced the IAC(if you ever did?)

I had the samething happen to my car. When was the last time you changed your fuel filter. I changed the filter and it went away. maybe its something simple
