Engine harness ? Need help ASAP

Ok I am wandering are the engine harness on a 94 and 95 z28 the same? It looks like everything on the outside where everything plugs onto the motor looks the same. The problem occurs when You look on the inside where they plug in at the kick panel. The wires dont match in the plugs like for instance a green wire would be going to a pink<--Ex.

Also the plugs when come together will have wires that have open pins. Hope that makes sense. imagine when you plug them together and one end of the plug will have a wire and where it plugs into the wire accross from it has a blank spot.

Now one of them is a M6 and the other is a auto. I know the tranny plugs are different than the m6 not worried about that. But what I have is im putting a m6 in the 94. Im selling the tranny that came out of the 94 Z28 which was orginally an auto. so of course i wanna let that engine harness go with the automatic.(the one that came with the car)

Now I have a M6 harness that came from a 95. are the plugs different colors gonna efect anything important or are the wires matching to different colors and wires lining up in the plug across from a blank gonna affect anything I need or is that just for the auto?

PLEASE PLEASE help if ya can.

Thanks,
Mike

Just to try to understand a little better let me ask this. Are you saying that you want to leave some of the wiring in place like the IP harness inside the dash (I don't blame you, I wouldn't pull that sucker out for any amount of money) and just plug the other harness into it?

Can you give us specifics regarding an example connector? Like say you have a big black 48 pin connector located under the dash between the kick panel and the steering column. The part with the chassis has a fig colored wire in the 3rd spot from the left on the 2nd row and the mating connector has a green bean colored wire. ?????

Be back on the board tonight at 7:30 EST.
