its a 94 firebird forumla, and the temperature is real high when it runs... its being air cooled right now... so it heats when im idling at a light for 2 long.
the fans do not sound like they are on, but my friend said the thermostate could be sticking so... we will check those 2 in a few days... but if anyone knows what might be the problem or if its a quick fix, let me know

you could get it scanned and test the fans.

also, ive always found it hard to hear my fans while im driving. Try letting the car run in the driveway with the hood up and just listen for them to come..

Be more specific. Where on the gauge is "real high"? Stock fans don't come on until 226º and that is over halfway on the gauge. It's normal for the temp to rise when you stop, because there is no airflow across the radiator. Do they come on when you turn on the a/c?

if ive been driving for a while it will be over by the 3rd notch... aprox 235 degrees... those temperatures worry me...

the fans for the car work fine, like if i turn on the AC or whatever it will blow cold air on me...

I think Injuneer explained the fan operations and temps in another post you have. Your situation sound pretty normal. You will have to get a fan switch or reprogramming to change the ON temp of your fans if you want to run cooler. That, with the addition of a 160º thermostat should help.
