Engine coming out.....front clip too?

Was just wondering if there was a way to take the 95 Z28's front clip off in one piece....and if so how?.....If not i guess its piece by piece then huh?......want to take the engine out soon.....trying to plan a route....going out the bottom is not an option....don't have lift and don't want to go dangerously high with the car on blocks or something like that.....i figured body panels and what not are easy to take on an off......

Thanks for the advice....

I could be wrong but isn't there some sort of frame that you won't be able to remove? You could probably rent a cherry picker.

no need to remove the front clip. just take the radiator out and remove the intake manifold. i also took the struts off the hood and raised it higher.. motor came out clean with a cherry picker

I just removed the nose cone on my car...leave the front fenders in place...you can't remove the rad. core support.

What I did was get the car up in the air as high as my jackstands would go. Then, I put a floor jack under the tailshaft of the tranny. Hook the engine at the front of both cylinder heads by a chain, and lift it, and pull it forward so that the sump of the oil pan sits on the k-member. Now you can re-hook the chain so that one end is on the front of the head, and one end is on the rear side of the opposing head. Now you can pivot the engine up, and lift it out. BTW, this is a TIGHT fit!!!!! Be slow and take your time.

There are some pictures in my signature of my motor going in from the top, very easy job. You'll be amazed with how much room you have to work with once you remove the radiator and all of the other accessories.

Sorry, but the easiest way to pull the engine is from up under the car with the trans and wiring all together. It took me 3 hours by myself in my single car driveway with all hand tools. Here's the guide I used
