Engine choked, wouldn't start, then started again
Hey guys,
Last night I tried to start my car when it made the choke sound an engine makes when, say, you run out of gas or pull the clutch without pushing the gas pedal and the engine dies. I imediately tried starting it again and it wouldn't fire up. The starter kept turning it but no combustion. I turned the key back to lock so everything was off, then turned it enough to hear the fuel pump prime and all the guage lights turned on, then tried starting it again and it fired right up, however it was showing some new codes.
16 Distributor ignition system (low resolution pulse)
42 Ignition Control (IC) circuit (shorted or grounded circuit)
46 Pass-Key®II circuit
I've had 16 and 42 before, but I unplugged the battery to do some work and they went away until now.
I'm wondering what the heck happened so that I wasn't getting combustion but everything electrical seemed to be working (lights in car, starter) then after I had turned the ingition off, it worked just fine. Any ideas?
