Emissions and Headers

I absolutely have to stay emissions legal and keep my cat so what are my options for headers. I know long tubes are the best but I have heard it is almost impossible to keep them emissions legal. Are mid-lengths any better?? Is it even worth going to shortys??

Re: Emissions and Headers

The only "true" smog legal header is one that does not relocate the factory
catalytic(s). In the republic of CA the product must also have a CARB EO#
to be legal. Offerings from SLP, JBA, Edelbrock, and some others have EO#'s,
which are probably the most likely to get by a tough inspection.

Re: Emissions and Headers

As long as I can pass the sniffer I would be alright cuz I know of a shop that doesn't care about the visual.

Re: Emissions and Headers

My camaro passed the sniffer here with SLP midlengths, no AIR, no EGR and no cat.
