Mine is the same way. I took the console and the cable was in fast snapped. I called chevy. They had it in stock and it was like 35-40 bucks. I havent fixed it yet. I have been super busy but from what I understand, you just run it through the hole that the old one came out of and hook it to the handle and to the piece on the rear-end. I hope this helps. Oh, by the way, make sure you get it for either disc or drum brakes, which ever you have. i have to make 2 trips. Good luck.
