Hey guys, I think my WP gave up the ghost, she's leaking bad. I just had the opti-crap changed out and didn't think that the wp would go this soon. Which is easier to install and where would be a good place to get it from? Thanks...

 

Do you have a stock pump now? It's probably easiest to replace it with a new stock one, but it's not that hard to switch to an electric either they just require some modification to install. I'm not sure what a new stock one runs but I just installed a CSI, got it here

I've never done it but I've heard you have to notch the housing and run wires for a switch. I was planning to do mine soon. Summit is 4 cents less. He he. Shipping might be cheaper one way or the other. I don't know.

 

Yes, stock would be easiest to replace. Either way you have to remove the whole wp housing from the motor, with a new stock one you would pretty much just bolt it back up. With an electric you reuse the stock wp housing, remove the internals of the pump, use a freeze plug to seal up the back of the pump housing, install the new electric pump drive in the stock housing (CSI requires slight modification to fit) plug the hole left in the timing cover after you remove the wp drive shaft and then of course wiring it. So again stock is easiest to replace. I used this guide to install my CSI, it gives all the steps involved in the install.
