Electric water pump Question

Im installing an Electric water pump this coming weekend, and just thought of a question, Is there a cover that covers the hole that is left when I remove the motor driven waterpump, I would assume this leaves a hole in the block..

I just left the hole in the block, it shouldn't cause any problems. You could get the right size freeze plug and seal it off if u want though.

Re: Electric water pump Question

My only concern is getting dirt and things like that into the engine..

Re: Electric water pump Question

A properly sized freeze plug will work great and is what I see used most often. A search will turn up the relevant info.

Re: Electric water pump Question

it shouldn't be a concern. But if your worried about it just get the freeze plug. cost a couple cents. When i did my install everyone said it didn't matter whether you covered it or not. Just a personal preference i guess. The only thing i see with leaving that hole open is you might get more oil in the timing cover but i dont see that as a problem.
