stock PUMP all the way for me anyway. I do a lot of highway driving and dont like a hot runing car. If you drag race only i would go with CSI pump, but find it to be worthless on a stock car or daily driver just my .02. I have a csi pump for sale 75 bucks.

Is it true that the csi pump doesn't flow enough and causes a higher engine temp?

How long does it take to install? I think my stock one is going to at 123,000 miles. My buddie has a Lighted machine shop with all the tools we would need.

I run mostly highway with mine and the engine stays very, very cool. I also have a 160° thermo and the fans set to come on earlier. No excess heat problems what so ever. The CSI flows plenty.

As for the install time, I posted the link for the install on my last response. It's not too bad, for me the only pain is the coolant drain. Dealing with that is never fun (I hate messing with that crap), but if you have to swap out the pump anyway...

Yeah, I kinda curious about the temp. deal myself. Mine has been around 185 or so at idle and won't get any hotter, then the cruising temp. is so far been around 195-200 or so but this is in 30-40 degree weather. I'm just wondering what it will do in the summer.

I have not noticed any hotter temps from the CSI. I installed a CC306/heads/intake and a CSI and my temp still stays at 165-175 in traffic. Now I am not sure what its going to do when its 100* outside but so far its been the same as with the stock pump.

my temp will rise pretty high before my fans come on, not far from the red line then it just drops.(only in traffic)

yeah only 2000 hours or 5.5 years if you drive an hour every day which i dont think most ppl do or i dont anyway.

also my true temp is 170 degrees running on the highway doing 70 in a 6 spd. maybe 175 in the summer over 100* outside.

EDIT: if you really want one but are worried about the thing burning up then buy 2 and carry one along with you. i have never done this but i think you could actually chance waterpumps on the side of the road in maybe 20 min since all you have to do is unscrew 6 screws and its off the housing... not sure how much coolant would escape though so maybe do it really quick?

If that 2,000 hours is driven on average of 50mph that's 100,000 miles. My stock mechnical pump has been squeeling since about 40k (at 65k now) so I'll be replacing it soon with a CSI. Plus, there is some hp and ftlbs to be gained by going electric. I think another benefit might be that an electric pump won't loose coolant all over your opti when it goes out (but keep your eyes on that gauge).

I'm curious as to whether or not people have seen the dyno gains with the CSI just like with the Mez. Seems like you would but, you never know.
