Electric W/P: Install a T-stat or no T-stat?

I bought a CSI Electric Waterpump and I am wondering if I should run a thermostat or just run it with out a thermostat. Would it be bad for the pump to run a t-stat?

I also got the Painless Electric Water Pump wiring harness and a Aeromotive 34% underdrive pulley. I figured since I had to reseal the timing cover anyways.... (the opti is new BTW).

Thanks for reading.

There have been a ton of posts about running/not running a thermostat. It does not matter if the pump is electric or mechanical. You should always run a thermostat in an LT1, IMO.

Thanks, that is what I thought but of course.... someone said it would burn something up, which of course to me sounded like BS but I just had to check.

Thanks.

The LT1 stat is different than other engines. It has a second valve that I beleive helps to recirculate water when the engine is cold. While I don't have any personal experience, I've heard from several sources that the car will overheat with it removed.
