Removing the AC should not affect the fans, that I know of. If the wiring was shorted somehow, it could have blown the fuse. There are several circuits all linked to that fuse.

I don't have a diagram, but I do know when the A/C is switched on, it kicks both
fans on. A simple test might be to flip the switch to A/C and see if they come on.
At some point, though, even with the A/C turned off, both fans will kick in.

If you can confirm that both do not come on (only one), you may need some sort of
plug which completes the A/C circuit or run manual switches in the driver compartment

They should come on either when the AC compressor kicks on or when you reach the programmed engine temps for high/low fans. If there is no compressor there, then the fans will not kick on when the AC switch is turned. I know this because if the compressor goes out or there is no pressure in the AC system, the fans will not come on.

I apologize about the partial thread jack, but do you happen to have a part number or related parts needed for that ac delete pulley/mod? Mine is not functional anyways, and need this info. Local GM dealer was to no avail. Thanks!

a/c delete pulley

i got my a/c delete pulley from my local car quest auto parts store. it was a simple install and the factory belt worked fine. by the way, my fans are working. It seems there was not much antifreeze in the radiator for some reason. i added about a gallon. its not leaking and there is none in the oil. mystery i guess. i do know that the over flow tank was still full so i guess there is a hole in the overflow line somewhere.

Just a pulley from them? You didn't have to fabricate a bracket or anything etc? I'm just trying to picture what you did or for those who have deleted, what part(s) were required, as I've heard varying stories and don't want to have a dead in the water car once I rip that stuff off the car. Thanx!
