Eibach Drag Launch Kit
Eibach Drag Launch Kit
I was thinking about ordering the Eibach Drag Launch kit for my car. They say it can really help the car hook up and take off up to .4 seconds. It has an airbag for the right rear spring that you can adjust for racing or driving....How do you inflate it?? Anyone know if this kit is worth the money? Any opinions at all? Thanks!
I think I'll order it soon. I just hope it helps me hook up, cuz thats one of my biggest problems at the track...Thanks!
P.S. Still haven't heard whether its worth the money or not?

In your sig I do not see drag radials or ET Streets or other strip appropriate tires.
The single best thing you can do for increased traction at the strip are to use the appropriate tires.
I have the launch kit. It consists of four springs and an airbag. In conjunction with good tires, sway bar removal, the proper shocks and bushings, it really does help with traction.
My car sits a little higher than normal but I also have 28" tall tires both front and back. The addition of an airbag helps plant the passenger side rear tire and reduce body roll. The springs help transfer the weight from the front to the rear but you also need good shocks as they work in conjunction with the springs to provide decent straight line traction.
I do not believe that the kit, independant of other modifications, with provide a 4 tenths improvement. There are too many other variables to consider such as weather, tract conditions, and the balance of your suspension modifications. You also need enough horsepower to take advantage of the increased traction.

well, i know i dont' know a lot about this kit in particular, but i do know a bit about suspension airbags. they should have a nipple on them which u connect a hose to and then connect a pump on tthe other end of the hose (whatever kind of pump u want). then just pump it up.
obviously this wouldnt be convienant to get under the car each time to connect connect a pump onto, so what people usually do is run the piece of hose to the inside of the car in the backseat or something like that. most of the time it is just tucked away under the seat and whenever the want to pump it up, they just pull the hose out and connect it to the pump.
from what i hear, they make special pumps for inflating and deflating suspension air bags that mount into your car. usually sold in kits though with the air bags from what i've heard.
As for this kit being worth the price, i dont' know the cost of it and havent heard a lot about it, so i couldnt say. However, my first impression is that suspension air bags are more of a band-aid fix for stuff like wheel hop and traction. I would tend to go mods such as aftermarket torque arm and LCA relocation brackets to give a better launch. I think that .4 seconds might be a bit exaggerated.

It does raise the car in the rear, a buddy of mine has it on his. But it's only when you adjust it for the track that it does this. When you set it for the street, the car will look normal.

I plan on gettin a BMR Adj Torque arm plus other things from them that come in a kit....I will also be getting some BF Goodrich Grad Radials, I think it should be a great combination when everything is done. I might be gettin some bilstein shocks too, not sure if its worth it yet though. I believe a slightly raised rear end will definitely give the Z a much meaner look! Thanks guys!

There is one airbag. For the passenger side I think. It's supposed to just pre-load that side. If it raises one side, it obviously lowers the other and I know some of the other guys on this site have said they can fit taller tires under the car now... so that is not from an airbag.

. i already know this information. i was just quoting someone else cause they were askin what u adjust at the track with this kit. and i said the airbagi wasnt talkin about how much the car was raised
