EGR valve removal, how to?

Hey guys. I got the intake off the car, I would like to remove the EGR valve. What do I have to fab-up block off plates for? Just the EGR valve, or for that tube too? Does anyone sell them?

Also, what about wiring or vacumm harness, or that little sensor next to the EGR valve. What does that sensor do? The bracket it was held on (second or third last bolt on the dr. side of the intake) broke, but the plastic sensor is still there. What do I do with that, can it be removed? Thanks guys.

If you remove the EGR valve, you don't need the solenoid any more. Remove it and the vacuum hoses and plug the vacuum nipple on the side of the manifold. Fasten the electrical connector out of harm's way.

Use plates to block off the ports on the back of the manifold. You can find some people that sell them with a search or you can make your own. You will also need to find a way to plug off the pipe that comes from the exhaust manifold.

Hmm, any idea what material I can use to make those block off plates? SO I still need to plug in that rectangular sensor, but it does not need to be on the braket or have vacumm hooked up? Sound simple enough. Thanks for all your help man!

The "retangular sensor" is not a sensor, it is the EGR solenoid. You don't need to leave it on there.

I have heard of people using change quarters &dimes to block them off by just using the existing hookup from the metal tube that you will remove and they never told me they failed. but I have plates but those also cost money good luck
