Got an engine missfire code, i think the egr valve is my problem, any tips for cleaning it?

 

I cleaned mine with either carb or throttle body cleaner and some sort of brush, i think i used an old tooth brush. Push down on the valve part to get all the carbon buildup thats inside. Its probably not a bad idea to let it soak for a while.

Also did you get it scanned to see what the problem was or are you just assumeing its the egr valve?
