Dealer says i have a bad one of these, was just curious to what exactly this thing does and why an "Exhaust Gas Regulator" would cause my car to cut out?

Might be clogged or not working properly... Buy the set of EGR block off plates (if you have no emmisions testing) and be done with it.. I think the egr valve is costly... not to sure.. do you have a stumble at idle (choppy idle)

 

it surges at idle, so yeah its choppy.


I dont have emissions, but i just ordered a new EGR for $50.

 

EGR means exhaust gas recirculation, not exhaust gas regulator.


hyperspeed where do you get the plates from?
