EGR tube question...

Well Im assuming it's an egr tube. Whatever tube goes from the driverside header to the rear of the intake. I ended up removing it during the header install and I was wondering if I needed a new gasket for it where it meets the intake? And mine seems to be very gunked up with carbon, should I pour some seafoam into it to clean it out? Thanks!

I believe it's actually your air system- sucks air from the intake and dumps it into the exhaust to reduce emission levels. If you're not worried about inspections, you can just block off the intake and remove the rest of the air crap when you get the chance.

Ohhh, well I removed the pump and clogged up the tube from it last year when I did the Opti last year. How should I plug up the metal tube?

I don't know of any tube that goes from the driver's side exhaust to the rear of the intake. There is one from the passenger side, though.

I think you might be causing some confusion between AIR and EGR systems.

EDIT!!!: Sorry guys, I meant pass side. I had just gotten through working on the driver side when I came in and got on the comp. So I should just replace the tube? Also how does everyone clean the block before putting the headers on? IE old gasket area.

I Have a block off plate for the EGR Valve side, and I left the EGR tube side open. You only have to block off one side or the other. I then blocked off the EGR tube at the header.

Isn't there a stock part to use for this? Or would that hurt my motor since it's not an lt4 or built?
