EGR solenoid removal???

Ive taken all the EGR componets off and put 3 block off plates on to cover the holes for the EGR componets, but can I remove the solenoid and put a vacuum cap on the intake piece? If so, do I just tape up the connector that is for plugging into the solenoid? If I need to leave the solenoid in there do I just cap the 2 lines?

Yes, you can take it off and cap the manifold. You can leave the plug just hanging there or you can pull it back and tuck it into the harness or something. The noid is there to open and close the EGR based on manifold vacuum, so if your valve is no longer there to open and close you don't need it.

You will probably get a diagnostic trouble code when the solenoid is removed.
