EGR removal

I am removing the egr on my 93Z and don't know how to get the egr hoses from that wraps around the rear of the engine off. ARe they bolted on back there? IF and when I get them off is there anything on the back of the engine I need to plug?
Also, I am doing hooker lt's and could use any pointers you guys have on getting the dipstick out. I have both headers gone and still can't get the dipstick out.

did you take the hold down bolt for the dipstick out? it should come out once you get that bolt out. i can't remember about the egr, its been a while. i think you just pull that line and plug it. it may have a metal clamp holding it onto the back of the block or the head somewhere.

Put some oil on the little you have removed, push it back in and work it back and forth it should come out. It helps to use a vise grip on it gently when your underneath. Use a twisting motion while pushing up on it. Mine came out pretty easy. Just don't bend it to much otherwise when you put it back in the mounting hole won't line up to the block. You remove two bolts and the EGR comes off. You can buy a block off plate from the dealer for $8 to cover the hole. Ask for a LT4 EGR block off plate. They had to order mine, took 2 days. Plug the vaccuum line to the intake from the EGR hose. There's a metal tube that attaches to your passenger stock header and then attaches to the rear of your intake next to the EGR that also comes off with two bolts. Once you have that off, cut the tube off at the base of the plate that attached to the back of the intake, slam a beer, trace that plate on a piece of the beer can, cut the holes out for the bolt holes, and put it back on the intake with the aluminum sandwiched between the plate and the intake, use hi temp sealer on both sides. Both holes sealed up.
