egr removal

does this provide any gains and what are the benefits/reprocusions of removing this?

If yours isnt giving you problems (SES light)...then just leave it alone. There is no horsepower benefit from removing it.

0 Horsepower, just one less thing to worry about. I removed mine along with the air pump but only because I was rebuilding my motor and was in there any ways. Other than that just leave it. Cause if you remove it then you gotta go get the comp redone and stuff.

Zero horsepower gains, since EGR is non-functional at WOT anyway. I did it to ditch off some stuff that I felt was not needed. On a stock car, you'll have trouble passing NOx tests without EGR. If you have an aftermarket cam, however, there is a good chance that the overlap built into the cam will actually render the EGR unnecessary. So less engine compartment clutter and a few pounds of weight savings are pretty much the only benefits.

Between the valve, tube, and solenoid it was at LEAST 2 pounds! Woohoo!

Alright....it wasn't very exciting or rewarding. But it did give me something to do! :)
