EGR Question...I searched first :-)

I searched and noticed no one had ever mentioned anything about the egr vacuum line (if that's even what it is). I have the blockoff plates, gaskets, and all that good stuff. But when I took off the egr valve, I noticed it was hooked to a little sensor type thing and then that had a vacuum line that ran into the intake manifold. I can probably take pictures of it tonight unless someone else knows what I'm talking about. Do I have to block off that vacuum plug that is sticking out of the manifold? And if not, what do I have to do? I'm removing both the AIR and EGR stuff by the way. Thanks for your help..

Okay I kept searching and it looks like I just have to plug the hookup with a drain plug or something similar. If this is wrong, please correct me. I'm hoping to have the intake ready to bolt on soon.

I have a 96, but I think they are the same from an EGR standpoint. The "sensor type thing" you're referring to is most likely the EGR solenoid. It uses pules-width modulation from the PCM to control vacuum to the EGR valve itself. If you are going !EGR, then it can be removed. And you're right, just block the vacuum line coming from the manifold to prevent a vacuum leak.

Good Luck.
