EGR Question

ok , heres an update , my idle is starting to seem a lil off and my exhaust has gotten a lil more poppy at times. The car is surging at idle a little bit sometimes. The EGR code is more persistant than before , I erase it and it comes back quickly . I think I have a evil EGR valve on my hands. Does this sound like something and EGR valve can cause ??? Also my friend (whos a mechanic) says to just take it out and clean it , is that usually the case on an LT1 ??
thanks , Justin
p.s. I checked my map sensor readings on my scanner and they seem more erratic than usual. Stumbling from 54 to as low as 46 where before it kinda hung around 52-54

Re: EGR Question

It's possible to clean and reuse it, as long as the valve is functioning properly.

Hey shoebox , I was just looking at your site , my car has the syptoms of it being stuck open except for it hasnt stalled on me yet altho its come close. Do you think it is my EGR or the computer is tripping the code in error due to my headers etc. ???

Same symtoms here, found out that my vacuum supply line was disconnected. Even though I reconnected it, the EGR system is still dead. And I'm still throwing a code 32.

Steve10 is getting $30 of mine to get the block off plates.
