Thumbs down EGR Plate Problem??

So while I was taking my intake manifold off last week.. I notices that one my EGR block off plates was not blocking it all.. it was completely open... Other than a wicked vacume leak what else could that cause? Would it cause me to dyno lower than normal? I also noticed many of my intake bolts were loose! Thanks guys

Which plate was off? If it was for the exhaust gas tube there would have been no leak. I have never looked at how big the hole is into the plenum where the EGR valve goes, but I think you would have noticed a vacuum leak.

The tube that goes from what used to be the manifold tube.. not the EGR hole

You're confusing me now. Was the plate on the end of the tube or on the opening next to the EGR valve opening? If it was on the manifold, no problem. That hole doesn't really need to be closed. People just cap it to keep the crud out.

When you put in Hooker Longtubes and !Treehugging Equipment.. you have to cover up two ports in the back of the intake manifold.. The hole on the driver's side was fine.. the passenger's side is the one that was open..

If it's the pass. side, there was no vacuum leak.
