EGR Code Help
I've had an SES light on for a few days and finally got it scanned. The guy said it was an EGR code and thought it had to do with my exhaust and a lack of backpressure. I have a Borla system with the 3/4 open plate on for about 1 1/2 years without a problem and he said the EGR valve is working correctly. Could the exhaust be the problem or what could it be?
Thanks in advance

I bought my car in 6/00 with the CAI and Borla on it. SES came on during test drive. Clearing DTC p)400 was condition of sale. Car was back in numerous times under warranty. Final decision of dealer after new EGR, solenoid and vacuum line installation was non OEM catback. Offer was to put stock one back on. Told them to forget about it and have been clearing the code when it pops up on highway in 6th gear ever since. No plates are on Borla. I got a set of plates and hardware from them but never bothered to install any. Just picked up the electric plate and will install it when weather breaks here.
Whats the exact code/codes? If your fans are not working then it could be related to your AIR. Check your 25 amp fuse under your hood. I believe it is fuse #6, but not positive off the top of my head. If you haven't got the free recall for the AIR pump then get it done. Thats what fixed my problem that was similar to yours. I had codes 412 or 400, and 1600 i believe.

It's been three days now and the mechanic can't figure out the problem. He put the full blockoff plate on the Borla and the light is still on. Any ideas - I hate my car being in the shop for this long!
