EGR block off question

Has anyone ever removed the EGR valve and made a block off, as well as the EGR feed tube. I've removed the valve as well and want to make sure that I have not errored. With programming, will the engine run fine with the EGR valve removed? Thanks.

I removed mine when I installed the cam. Had to have it programmed out. I believe the same goes for OBDII.

Yep same here. When I removed the tube I took off the collar and welded it up. I have not removed the EGR valve, no block off plate. When you remove the relay that goes to the EGR you will set a code. All you have to do is keep the wire hooked up to the relay but disconnect the vacuum lines, that is until you can get it programmed out.

Besides the code, will the thing run fine until I get my programming done? I'll be running OBDI on this motor.

I am not sure. Once the code is set the fans will be running at full.

I drove around for a few weeks with the EGR code (P0400) and my car ran fine. I even took it to the track and my times were right on. My fans weren't always on either
