!EGR and !AIR, reversable???

I'm either gonna get LT's or 94-95 mac headers and do the single cat conversion. Either way i go i won't pass emissions in california. So i was gonna do the !air and !egr. I will have 2 years till i gotta get it smogged again. So i was just wondering if once you do that can it be put back on with no problems. Also around how long does it take to remove them. One more question if i do the single cat conversion i know it won't pass the visual but will it pass the emissions part? Thanks.

the EGR took about 10 mins to remove and block off, except for the hose that attaches to the passenger side manifold.

the AIR was pretty easy also.....maybe about 20 mins total on that one.

The !EGR mod is pretty easy, and should be easy to reverse if you need to. !AIR might be more of a pain due to the fact that most people (including me) cut the metal tube that snakes around the motor that runs up to the check valves on the manifolds. Its pretty easy to take off if you have a die grinder or Dremel, but I imagine it would be a PITA to reverse. I am pretty sure the air pump only runs in open loop though, so just let your car warm up and you should be fine. I yanked the EGR and air pump in about an hour or so. If you want to reverse these mods though, you need to remember to get headers with the hookups for them and plug them when the emissions stuff is off the car. There's not real performance gain to these mods, so you might be better off leaving it alone, but its up to you. I did it just to clean up the engine bay and give myself some more working room. Dropping the air pump saves some weight too. HTH

Yeah i just wanted to clear up some room. It is so damn crouded. But if its not really worth the hassle having to put it back on then maybe i won't.
