Egr ???
Howdy all,
I've not had time to mess with DTC 32 until now. Taking the rpms to 3000 slowly, I don't see any movement in the bellows of the egr valve. It does stumble when I compress it at idle. The SES light seems to come on when I'm coasting down or idling in traffic. I know there is a separate DTC for the egr solenoid. Is it possible that the solenoid is getting a signal (the scanmaster says it is), but the solenoid isn't sending out info to the valve? If not, then I think my valve is toast. It's really stiff when I compress it, is that normal? The books say that if it stumbles while being compressed that passages are OK. Anybody have any experience with this?
Thanks,
Gabe

If you compress the EGR diaphragm at idle, the engine should stumble or stall. If that does not happen, the passages are clogged or the pintle on the valve is broken or something. Remove the EGR valve and take a look with a mirror.
Howdy all,
The new egr valve seems to have fixed it. No codes. I even noticed my gas cap, that I thought was bad, has gotten it's swoosh back when I open it. Once I got the old valve off, with a firm squeeze, it sounds like it has aluminum foil instead of a rubber bellows inside. The ports had a powdery carbon residue that wiped out real easy. She's running like a champ. I didn't realize it had become so sluggish.
Thanks all,
Gabe
