No ego to it... the point is that Car Craft magazine doesn't talk about the things that really matter when comparing camshafts. Just lift/duration/lsa and a textbook definition of each.
Maybe if they'd teach people how the timing events effect the engine and how you should compare cams with similar durations and lift instead of.... this is too big and that is too small. Now that I might buy for ~$4.
Just a pet peeve of mine and nothing to be taken personally. Just a general statement to the "other" people out there who think thats all that matters.

We're still missing the part on emissions and flow area. If we have more area under the curve then we have more flow area at the low lift portion. More lift, more volume of flow and that does have an effect on emissions, just like too much "overlap" from seat to seat.

I agree am I'm glad you brought out that good point. I've read Vizard's book about camshafts and it didn't discuss the effective overlap area under the curve in the format/perspective just discussed. Essentially, this topic nullifies the accuracy of the overlap equation: ((Advertised Duration IN x EX)/2) - (LSA x 2)

That equation boggled me anyways due to any lack of industry standard to measure Advertised Duration.
