Thumbs down Edelbrock LT4 air gap intake release date

Got an e-mail from them yesterday. They pushed the release date back again, yes again. Its now "scheduled for release" in mid to late December.

I dont think we will ever see it guys. I was at SEMA last year when they showed it. Its been a year and SEMA is just around the corner again. At this rate the new Camaro will be here before their intake. I had a flash back to 1997 when I read that. Personally I doubt it will ever be released.

They really know how to put a sour taste in people's mouths.

I was wanting to get one and port it to see how it works over a stock LT1 ported.

I'm also interested to see the results. Fortunately for me, I already have an LT4 intake that has been ported for my new stroker engine; so I don't think I would change it out unless the new intake offered measurably improved performance over factory piece. If it's anything like the Edelbrock LT1 heads, it would be nothing more than a copy casting with dismal improvements. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Typical for them. Expect it to be pushed again when December gets here.

I've invested too much in my LT1 habit to change just yet. I have too many specific parts and engines to switch....lol

Re: Edelbrock LT4 air gap intake release date

hehe, yeah I might own one by then. But seriously I was really hoping it would be out now. I've been keeping in touck with them by shooting an e-mail to one of their salesman every few weeks. Last they told me it would be out mid October. So I asked for it again and they bumped it back again.

I figured it would just be a stock replacement. But even if the LT4 version at a stock replacement sold for $450... it would be worth a shot. I'm on the hunt for an LT4 intake now cause I cant wait till December for a possibility at getting one. Their track record isnt all that good and I think they have successfully pissed off all LT1 owners by feeding them a bunch of bull...
