edelbrock lt1 heads
I have read edelbrock statements that say these heads give you ~20-25 hp above stock. They still use 1.94/1.5 valves, etc. I don't understand why anyone would go through so much trouble to build a head that makes 20 hp above stock. What is the point of that?
Actually 20hp isn't bad when you talking stock camshaft. Put in a large cam and Im sure you would see much larger gains. Although for the price you could probably just get a set handported that would perform a bit better.

I definetly wasn't sold on those, they increase compression with those heads & have a bit more flow, the compression boost alone is the 20-25HP, remember their 20-25 HP means 10 HP at the flywheel, just like the Hooker Cat-back gives you 30hp
Somebody needs to get some hard numbers on these heads. Anyone buy them yet?
Edelbrock should sponsor me, give me a set of heads to install and see what happends. I would pay for the dynotime before and after, both with a tune!
As if that would ever happen.
Actually, if its with a stock cam, might not be bad. Anyone have the flow numbers on these heads?

I cant see how you guys can bash or promote these heads without any results- or EVEN FLOW NUMBERS for that matter!
25mph on a stock vehicle is a hell of a gain, expecially seeing how restrictive the intake (box) and exhuast system is.
Most guys see 30hp gains with heads and the Lt4 hotcam. There are exceptions and crazy nuts out there... but as a general rule of thumb id say 30hp is normal.
How much room do these things have for porting anyway?

I agree with Trey on this. Everyone is bashing these things and I still don't know one person that has a set and has flowed them and checked to see how much they can be worked over.
I would say 20cfm over a stock head isn't too bad. I'm sure there's plenty of room to improve on them too.

this depends on the cast they may be like the 561 cast not much materail to work with.

I've heard from what I consider a good source that the Edelbrock heads do have some potential in them.
