edelbrock headers?

edelbrock headers?

has anyone herd of these headers? there the edelbrock TI-TECH coating headers. would you say these or some ceramic LT pacesetters. Thanks

The edelbrocks are a small tube, mid length header. They are well made and seal pretty well at the collectors with their ball type flanges. They are great with mildly modded engines. If you are considering heads/cam, you are better off with a larger diameter primary header.

I ran edelbrocks for ~10 years on my 95 Z28. I had a lot less problems with them than my new RKsport headers. I ran a best of 12.6@112.5 with the edelbrocks, home ported heads, and a hotcam.

Though I have nothing to compare them to these are a pretty good header. My coating is still good after almost 3 years. Only thing is I had to elongate a few of the holes for the bolts to go in nice to the head. HP gain was noticable too. They sound real nice with my hooker catback too.

There's better headers out there, you may be dissapointed with the edel junks. I wouldn't reccomend them to anyone that wants more on thier car than Headers,Intake, and Exahust. If your going to be doing heads, get some better headers try Mac's, RKs, LT's ETC. I ran the brocks and they were "ok" plug changes were hell to do. I felt some good gains from them though, but they are limited. If you notice most guys on this site who "HAD" edelbrocks, have different headers now.

They are great for cars that have stock internals, and need to pass emissions because they have a CARB #

But other than that, I'm not a fan. I like my pacesetter longtubes

Amen to that. Hours. 20 minutes with my Jet-Hot LTs. I did go 12.2's with the edelbrocks through a cutout. I had a hotcam and the heads had bigger valves and all of the bowls were blended. Love the Jet-Hots much more, except that damn coating of theirs isn't holding up.

I found it easier to remove the headers to change my plugs. I cut 12 hours down to about 5

I too did that trick what a pain... removed the HEaders, and pulled the Steering linkage... what fun. Now a days I can get all 8 from the top without removing anything in about 2-4 hours give or take.

You can pretty fast on the Edelbrock headers...I used to have them...they were ok.

12 hours to change plugs? i've done a cam and head swap faster then that and im by no means fast.

you guys just need to get the right tools, get a socket with a hex head on it so you can use a wrench to turn it, and an offset wrench that will fit on the plug it self.
souldnt take you more then a couple hours at most.


oh and regarding the edelbrocks, i gained 4 tenths and 3 mph from them... and they support my car to a 12.3 @ 111 with just bolt ons and the hot cam.
dynoed 344 356 with that setup.

There are many better choices to be made as far as headers go. But the Edelbrocks aren't that horribly bad, as many posters have pointed out, and flow way better than the stock manifolds.

Between the two you posted, I say Pacesetter LTs.



I must say I love my RK Sports though. But if you live in a place where you wont be hung from the nearest tree for running long tubes, do it.

Bought em used dirt cheap. ($100 shipped and coated)
They work, but plug access is crap and I'd much prefer larger primaries.
One bolt is permanently lodged behind the AIR tube, making it a bitch to install and easy to crossthread

They'll be coming off later this year in favor of some nice 1.75" or 1.875" LTs.

I still have these headers and they are ok. I would say they are good up to about 400 hp. then they will start to limit performance. I can change plugs in about 1 hour all from the top after removing alternator.

Same here...I have these headers and havent had a problem with em. I didnt put them on the car and would of went with Kooks if it was my choice. Eventually I will upgrade but right now its not worth it bc i have all bolt-ons. It only took me a little over an hour to do plugs w/o removing the alt(but i have a lift so i got two from underneath)....I dont know how it takes some ppl like 6 hours to do plugs????
