edelbrock catback exhaust
Re: edelbrock catback exhaust
The edelbrock was the first catback system I installed and it was
a noticable improvement. Sound was mellow which is typical of a
straight through style muffler. I eventually wanted more sound so
I replaced the muffler with a flowmaster. Since then I have replaced
everything with a 2.5" true dual system.

Re: edelbrock catback exhaust
Yes I know this thread is VERY old, but I wanted to revive it because there's no need to create more exhaust threads
I have been unable to figure this out on my own, I figure somebody who has either a) owned the system or b) knows for sure, can answer for me.
What style is the exhaust tips/tailpipes on the 93-95 (or whatever lt1) Edelbrock catbacks?
Are they the dual/dual, like the Hooker/loudmouth (one of the versions anyway), or are they dual straight tips, like the flowmaster/loudmouth slash tips.
Any definite answer is much appreciated. thanks!

Re: edelbrock catback exhaust
Edelbrock's website lists it as "Camaro/Firebird 93-95 5.7L single catalytic converter 3" in - dual 2-1/2" out #5674 "
Re: edelbrock catback exhaust
Yeah i read the description on their site, but they list several tips as well, I wasn't sure.
However, you are saying that you can still see these turndowns, or are they hidden under the bumper, a la fox body mustang?
basicaly, they're not straight out like, say, Flowmasters are?
Thanks!

Re: edelbrock catback exhaust
Not many things I would buy from edelbrock. Their system isn't SS as far as I know. I would go for something SS like a borla. If money is an issue, jegs sells the magnaflow SS catback for 93-97 f-body's for about 330 shipped to you.
Re: edelbrock catback exhaust
Hmm, I wasn't aware of that.
Money is an issue, I'd like to keep it under 350. Stainless would be nice I guess, but damn man, magnaflow has 4inch tip!
But thanks for the info, magnaflow is stainless, true.

Re: edelbrock catback exhaust
I've had the Edlebrock for a couple years now...no problems and people think the car sound REAL good...I don't drive mine in the rain or snow so it doesn't get daily driver abuse but like I said no problems...
