edelbrock cat back

I notice there is two different edelbrock cat backs avalible. one has duel 2 1/2 out lets and one has a single 3 inch out. Is one better than the other? I like the sound from the 3 inch out exaust that edelbrock has on there web site. I'm not sure how the duel out exhaust sounds. Dose any one have a exhaust sound clip for the duel out exhaust?
what 1/4 times and trap speed should I expect from installing both the TES headers and the duel out edelbrock cat back system, on a 6 speed 1993 Z28?

i heard the edelbrock headers have some kind or port match problem. That some people had to port them out to match the exhaust ports on the heads. Is this true guys???
I'd get mac's or as&m's personally.

single 3'' will be quiter... Edelbrock headers are probably the least popular on this board... and for a good reason. Installation problems are a big hassle. Also, they are non coated and aren't even stainless steal so expect them to burn through your plug wires too. Also, for the price, you'd be better off just getting mac, slp, or hooker headers. My choice would be Jet Hot coated Hooker long tube headers. I think most people would agree

These boards sure get alot of trafic! I posted this mesage only a few minutes ago and there is already a reply.
but back to the exhaust. I know about the header bolt clearance bumps intruding into the tubes and that edelbrocks are not the best headers, but there the easyest headers for me to get and they seem to work well with bolt on cars. all the other parts on this car are from edebrock to, subframes, strut tower bar, and was considering the head and cam package.

I have always wondered how edlelbrock made there cross flow muffler... looking inside I see a baffle with three aprox 1-1/5 preforated tubes running to the other end of the muffler from the inlet, all three tubes together prety much equal a 3 inch pipe.
than the exhaust goes to another chainber were the exuast chooses witch outlet pipe it wants to leave from.
the edelbrock headers bolted up real nice with at least 3/4 inch distance from any spark plug boots or wires. I dont know why people have complained about spark plug clearance with these headers. there is the welding on the inside of the pipe that dosent look very good for flow when you look at it, but actualy would not get much in the way of exhaust flow on stock or mildly ported heads because the port opening is smaller than the welds anyway.

Horsepower TV did a dyno test adding Edelbrock headers and catback. They only gained 22 hp at the wheels over the stock exhaust Youll get that much from a good catback and CAI kit. IMO Edelbrock is terrible.
