Ebay throttle bodies

has anyone bought and used the 52mm or the 54mm off ebay? and how did they work?

52 mm is going to be the max bore you will want a stock TB to be bored. Even that gets a little porous.

NOMAD on this board did mine and I was very happy with it.

I'm also curious if anyone is using the bored 54mm off ebay or bored their own out that much. What do you mean by porous? Thanks.

I'm just courious if anyone has a 58mm throttle body they do not need, i have a LT4 machined for a 58mm for my 396 project. Just seeing if anyone has on laying around they wanna get rid of.

You could start by looking in the forsale section and then posting in the wanted section instead of hijacking this thread.

Porous means the TB itself isnt a truely solid peice of metal. The TB has little tiny air holes in the metal. When you overbore it, these little bubbles show up as holes in the outside of the bore.

Like I said 52 starts to show signs of this, a 54 would look like swiss cheese

What all work have you done to your car? If its just bolt ons i wouldnt worry about doing a tb untill you've done a heads/cam. But thats just me. I dont think you would gain a whole lot.

I have a 95 formula m6 spec stg 3 pacesetter lts no cats borla 160 sat waiting for install 255 walbro 42lbs lt4 hot cam and powerdyne 6ps1 waiting for the weather to break.
