Ebay stroker short block, what do you think?

What do you guys think of that.

I have emailed a couple people that have received them and they seem to be happy. Do you think I could have a budget stroker built locally for cheaper? Can someone give me a ball park estimate on assembly and machining cost?

How long had the customers you emailed had their engines?
Did they say what kind of set ups & use?

The price is very decent. I've been building a 383 for quite a while and it takes forever to get machine work done in Phoenix.

Machine work should be somewhere between 600 and $1200 depending on if you have the mains splayed. Eagle rotating assemblies are $1500-$1700

If you want cheaper I would do a 355 but you won't be saving a fortune that shortblock is a good price already

A stock crank, Eagle I beams ($250) and SRP forged pistons ($500), $200 rings & bearings. $600 machine work and $400 for assembly and $200 balance is about as cheap as you can go and still have a very strong set up.

Re: Ebay stroker short block, what do you think?

im going to talk to some machine shops down here in tucson and see what machining and assembly will cost, If its not to bad i will probably order this

and have it built locally.

The two people I had emailed had only had the motors a couple months, but they had nothing but good things to say.

Im really not worried about getting all forged internals. I never plan on spraying it or any other power adder. Just want it to rev up to 6500 safely

Does it come with any kind of warranty? Looks like a good deal but I wouldn't want to buy it unless there was some sort of written guarentee.

If you are not trying to use any power adders then you don't need the forged shortblock. That said, its a good deal so why not get it just in case you change your mind? I've heard good things about those shortblocks by the way.

I emailed them and asked them about just doing a cast steel crank and rods with SRP forged pistons. They said they could do it for ~$2500
