Easy way to disable Low Oil light

Hey guys,

A long time ago, I made the mistake of bringing my car to a Jiffy Lube type of place and they jacked my low oil sensor. The oil never leaks and I change it regularly, but I don't feel like dropping the pan just to replace the oil sensor. Is there any easy way to just disable the warning light on the console?

Is it broke to the point you can't turn it out or do you have longtubes and it is "stuck" in between the pan and headers.

I have mid length headers so I don't think there is a fitment issue but I was under the impression that the sensor was in the oil pan and I would need to take off the oil pan to get to the sensor. This is why I was trying to simply disable the warning light on the console. I don't believe it affects open/close loop operation...

It screws into the oil pan on the drivers side (no need to pull the pan). Easily accessible with mid length headers.

Nice so then I just need to drain oil at next oil change and put the new sensor in? That sounds great!

The oil level sensor simply unscrews and pulls out of the oil pan. Unless part of the sensor is broken inside, no need to pull the pan.

Not sure, I haven't tried to take out the sensor. It's been like this for about 4 years though so I don't think anything is broken inside or I would have likely already had other issues I assume. I will be checking this evening on this

That's probably what she told you... just kidding!

Sorry it was way too perfectly set up. Anyway, the Autozone up the street has one in stock and I'll grab it on the way home and put it in tonight and see if the light goes away.

Any other reasons why the light would come on? that seems to make the most sense to me since it happened immediately after a jiffylube did my oil.

Maybe for some odd reason Jiff Lube just unplugged the sensor.

Hmmm that's possible too. I'll get the part on the way home just in case. Worst case scenario I just return it the next day.

That was easy I wish I would have replaced it sooner, no more low oil light popping on all the time!
