Im just about to change my oil but i just want to be sure about that:

How much oil do i have to put in my lt1 to be proper fill.

Sorry its kind of weird but i really dont know

5 quarts with filter change

 

The norm is 5 quarts. I add 5 quarts and check the level and add accordingly.

 

I always change my filter with oil changes and will replace with 5 quarts fresh oil, new filter. Crank car, watch for oil pressure to build, turn off engine, recheck level.

Also: check the thread and head condition of your drain plug, they are cheap to replace if needed. I have seen cars that the plug was nearly rounded off on. Be sure that the gasket from the old filter comes off when you remove the filter. If it is not removed you will then be stacking the old gasket and the new one and it will leak oil etc. Add a few drops of oil to the new filter gasket before installing.

Thats about all I can think of, most of it we all probably know. But, reading about it is a much better way to learn.
