Easy HP
I have a 1993 Z28 Camaro (LT1) its pretty much stock other than a coldair intake. Im getting a Flowmaster Catback exhaust soon. What are some easy things I can do to my car for cheap but good HP?
Thanks

Some pretty basic mods would be an airfoil that goes inside the throttle body to smooth out the incoming intake charge. It usually runs around 50 bucks, but if you search around on the classifieds, you can get one for half that. Another mod would be the throttle body bypass, best part of this one is that it is free. The process is outlined in this link: http://shbox.com/1/tb_bypass.jpg Finally, a mail order tune is another good one and that will run around 150 bucks. A couple good tuners are Madz28.com and Pcmsforless.com

TB bypass first
Easy and cheap hp would be nitrous, if you wanna go that route.
Don't get the flowmaster, they're not good for our cars. Get a Hooker catback or something similar.
Do some headers while you're at it.
You won't need a tune for a while, I'd say after headers or gears at the earliest.
Gears will definitely make your car faster as will a stall/clutch although it won't add any hp.

Won't gain much on a pretty much stock car, or even a bolt on car. You should get a great exhaust setup and some upgraded suspension. Gears and tune should be bought together if you can't tune it yourself.

Although this has been argued before, I think you would be surprised what a mail-order tune could do for a stock or bolt-on car. After getting a mail-order tune done from Madz28, my bolt on car gained some horsepower due to the premium gas tuning, the car shifts harder, and it runs alot cooler. There was some other things done to it as well, but those three things were what made a very noticable difference. I would say it is money well spent, for a 150 bucks, it is a better proven mod then some of the other things on the market costing more money.
