Easy Horsepower

O.k. so my intake manifold gasket is bad on my car. So since i am gonna change it anyway, is there anything I can to do to give me a little horse power boost while I have everything apart?

U will probably have the valve covers off, so 1.6 roller rockers would be an easy 8 to 10 hp. Maybe an electric waterpump? Those are both very helpful.

Although it won't provide massive gains, an airfoil might bump you up a couple of ponies. I like the rocker idea, upgrade your springs as well though.

Yeah springs are a must. I would by non self aligning rockers and get some guide plates, this tends to be better than self aligning if you plan on ever revving the motor high, like with a cam swap maybe later on down the road. I have an airfoil on mine, I couldn't really tell any difference, but I know that it probably helped a little.

In case you are not aware----lt1 intake leak is normal (and I assume when you say "bad" that you mean you have a leak.) Having said that, if this is the case of the infamous intake leak, be sure to follow the instructions on this board on how to fix the problem---which basically arose because the factory did not put enough sealant to the rear of the manifold.

And yes---a nice addition while under the hood is the addition of 1.6 RRS and springs (be sure to ask more about this crap before you do anything). JMHO

Honestly nothing at all really, if all your doing is pulling the intake manifold off.
