Well I had my h/c installed never gained any h.p. car just dosen't feel strong... I think it might be my new comp r's lifters that I put in, when I changed the intake gasket since it had a small leak, I noticed about half of the lifters just on the driverside alone had really bent divots/clips...I want to get them out before one or more let go... this is prob. my power loss.I am going to put the stock ones back in... what is the best/easiest way to switch them out, I didn't install them, so I never done it before, do I have to take out the intake again? can someone give me some steps to doing it, I am going to tackle it today...thanks..

You can't replace the lifters without removing the intake, so yes, it will have to come off. You will have to remove the lifter retainer (spider) that sits int he lifter valley). The valve covers will have to come off, so you can back off the rocker arms to remove the pushrods.
After you get it back together, the valves will have to be readjusted.
Even though the Comp R retainer have been an issue, I would not expect that to be the sole reason you found no power with the Hotcam (unless your valve adjustment was just way off or something).

I don't have the hotcam,, I have the cc306 cam.I was hoping for a gain in power... when I first got the car back from the guy that put it in, I had my friend reset the valve adj. and on 4 of the rockers they were set way too tight, he had to back them off 3 full turns to get them ticking... and on 4 others way too loose they were ticking like crazy, he had to turn atleast 2 turns to get zero lash..that is prob. what hurt the lifters... but my power did not go up at all...

butt dyno's have proven to be very ineffective way of measuring HP gain.. I would get it strapped down and see where your at...
