Easiest way to adjust rocker arms?

I am needing to adjust my rocker arms again but i need to know what the easiest way to do that is with the motor in the car? Also how do you find top dead cylinder the easiest? Thanks for all of your help....

Easiest in my opinion is with the motor running.

how to adjust them when the motor is running without getting oil all over the place?

When one rocker of the pair has is open all of the way the other rocker is ready to adjust. It is open all the way when the pushrod is up all the way and when adjusting the rocker u need to be able to mover or turn the push rod a lil. Some rockers will have a lil play and some wont.
