e waterpump worth it?

I'm just wondering if an EWP is worth it? I know there are performance gains ~5-10 rwhp, but is it worth it to risk failure? Let me know!!

yes theres a gain, but if its your daily driver.. its NOT a good idea. I don't know from personal experience but I'ved heard too many horror stories of people having it crap out in a traffic jam.

I was just talking to my bro about this today. I've had mine on for years with no problems. It's been making some noise for the last year or so,but still cooling just fine.

As long as you know how to keep an eye on your temp guage (not that the big red CHECK ENGINE light doesn't gleam in your face anyway when it gets too hot) you will be fine.

You can also connect and mount a light to let you know if it is not running.

I can't tell you exactly but there are writeups that tell you how to do all sorts of stuff with that.

I have mine on a switch and leds that will light if the pump stops working. It also runs when the ignition is switched to run with the engine off. Or I can switch it off via the toggle switch.

There was posts mentioning a relay system that sets off an audible alarm if there is a fault in the water pump circuit. It might be worth a search. I believe the guy who made them is a member on an Impala board.
