E Cutout worth it?

Looks like im not getting one.

On my single turbo LT1 (3" Borla) I installed a cut out and went from 479rwhp to 522rwhp and I picked up about 1 lb of boost. In my case my turbo needed to breath and the Borla was a restriction. After tuning and correcting air/fuel I ended up at 561rwhp.
With FI, do it.

Gains are going to be different with different set ups, it's that easy. Stock with a few boltons will probaly not really show what a head and cam car will. With a cut out your peak horsepower is going to be moved up the rpm scale, right where a head and cam car will love a cut out. It wouldn't hurt just to throw it on.

IMO, i would rather have an electric cutout than a catback/muffler/high-flow cat whatever. its cheaper, and allows you to run quiet or loud. very nice if you have to drive in cities with noise ordinances. as a bonus, the cutout motor is easily removed so it can be tranferred to a different vehicle. later!

Re: E Cutout worth it?
I closed my cutout for the first time since its been installed and it made my catback a lot quieter than just the cat back by itself. While its kind of cool, i want the corsas regular sound back. Anything i can do? I was thinking about making an instert of somesort to block off the openable side completely
Anyone else notice the muffling when closed or am i just losing my hearing
?

Re: E Cutout worth it?
I have a cut out in my car with a cc306 cam and heads and it sounds awesome. I would have installed it even if it took HP out. It sound like a nascar for the exception i don't rev 9krpm
Re: E Cutout worth it?
Some enignes like more backpresure than others and will actually make less power with a cut out open. I know on my 396 bigblock that i used to have in my buick skylark that open headers slowed the car... i put on purple hornies and felt a seat of the pants difference in acceleration. I could be wrong but i dont think so.

Re: E Cutout worth it?
Im really thinking about it since I do have forced induction. With my Y pipe and catback being 3 inch, will a 3 inch cutout work or not?

Less restriction = more power.
